Overview

The white Albariño grape is a variety indigenous to Asturias, although its cultivation has spread, due to its good adaptation, to the lands of León. Although by name and morphology it is like the Galician Albariño, these are grapes that do not share kinship and have very different organoleptic characteristics.

Rara Avis Albarín is made with grapes from vineyards in León that are more than 70 years old. The grapes are harvested by hand and the wine is fermented without temperature control. It is aged for 18 months in French oak foudres.

Tasting notes

Litchis, apricot, peach in syrup and a certain touch of lacquer is the splendid aromatic combination of this different wine with appetizing leftovers.

In the mouth the stone fruit returns with touches of quince, certain aniseed shades, and smoked sweets like that from the coated almonds. It is a long, vertical wine with no edges.
